John Leguizamo started his career as a stand-up comedian. He played a minor role in ‘Miami Vice’ that marked his television debut. He rose to prominence when he appeared in ‘Super Mario Bros,’ the fantasy adventure film where he portrayed Luigi which became one of his most cherished roles. Though, the film failed both commercially and critically, it gave a boost to Leguizamo’s acting career in Hollywood. He followed this with a prominent role in ‘Carlito’s Way,’ the crime film where he starred as Benny Blanco. Some of his other noteworthy roles include, ‘Spawn,’ ‘Moulin Rouge!,’ ‘The Pest,’ ‘John Wick,’ ‘Romeo + Juliet,’ ‘John Leguizamo’s Freak,’ etc. He starred in ‘To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything! Julie Newmar’ and earned a ‘Golden Globe Award’ nomination for his performance. He has also been a part of various Broadway productions and has won numerous accolades for his performances.
