Failed hockey player Happy Gilmore suddenly learns that he has a talent for hitting golf balls high, and decides to join the PGA Tour to earn money to save his grandmother's house from the IRS. He becomes a fan favorite for his unorthodox antics, but pro golfer Shooter McGavin conspires to expel him due to his poor etiquette.
