A film based on the life of Francis Ouimet, the first amateur golfer to win the US Open. Coming from a working-class immigrant family, and aspiring to win golf-championship, Ouimet starts as caddie and practices his game whenever he gets time, but faces class-prejudice and his father’s disapproval. In 1913, he gets a chance to play against his idol, British golfer Harry Vardon, and wins the US Open.
