Guitarist Dewey Finn is thrown out of his band New Vacancy due to his on-stage antics. Impersonating a substitute music teacher at a prep school, he goes on to teach the kids about rock ‘n’ roll. He then forms the band The School of Rock with them to try and win a local Battle of the Bands.  

Four high school students in detention together and cleaning their school's basement are magically transported into the mysterious world of the video game Jumanji in the form of their chosen avatars.
