
American stand-up comedian, writer-actor-producer John Edmund Mulaney is well-known for his stand-up specials and TV-writing.
Mulaney participated in childrenās sketch group āRugratsā and his university improv group. Later, in āComedy Central,ā he helped create āI Love the ā30s.ā Hired as a writer at āSaturday Night Liveā (2008), Mulaney co-created the character āStefonā for āWeekend Update,ā earning recognition and Primetime Emmy nomination for writing.
Mulaneyās stand-up specials, āThe Top Partā (2009), āNow in Townā (2012), āThe Comeback Kidā (2017), and āKid Gorgeousā (2018) brought him fame and a āPrimetime Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Specialā for āKid Gorgeous.ā
In 2014, Mulaney created semi-autobiographical series āMulaney.ā He is co-executive producer/writer for mockumentary series āDocumentary Now!ā (2015āpresent). He received appreciation as āGeorge St. Geeglandā in the show āOh, Hello on Broadwayā (2016).
He played supporting roles in āDifficult Peopleā (2016), āCrashingā (2017), and āPortlandiaā (2018). He provided voice for āSpider-Hamā in the Oscar-winning animated film āSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseā (2018) and the short film āBack on the Airā (2020).
His children musical comedy special āJohn Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunchā (2019) fetched him two Emmy nominations. Presently he is voice-actor for Netflix show, āBig Mouth.ā
