Peggy Lipton is an American actress and former model who shot to fame overnight for portraying flower child Julie Barnes on the ABC counterculture television series 'The Mod Squad' (1968–1973). Easily her best role, it won her the 'Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama' in 1970.
Starting her career as a Ford Agency model at the age of 15, she debuted on television at 19 in the NBC sitcom 'The John Forsythe Show' (1965). Prior to securing a main role on 'The Mod Squad', she made guest appearances on many television shows including 'Bewitched' (1965), 'The Alfred Hitchcock Hour' (1965), 'Mr. Novack' (1965), 'The Virginian' (1966), 'The Invaders' (1967), 'The Road West' (1967), 'The F.B.I.' (1967), and 'Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color' (1967).
Following a hiatus, she returned to acting and received praise for her portrayal of Norma Jennings on the mystery drama series 'Twin Peaks' (1990-91). She also had a main role on 'Angel Falls' (1993) and recurring roles on 'Alias' (2004), 'Crash' (2009) and the revived 'Twin Peaks' series (2017). Her filmography consists mostly of box-office failures, even though 'When in Rome' (2010) and 'A Dog's Purpose' (2017) were successful films.
