Roger Vadim was a French screenwriter, film director, producer, writer and occasional actor best known for his films with erotic themes such as 'And God Created Woman' (1956), 'Barbarella' (1968), and 'Pretty Maids All in a Row' (1971).
He started his career as assistant director and writer, and collaborated with his actress-wife Brigitte Bardot and director Marc Allégret in 'School for Love' (1953), a commercial failure. However, the trio later produced the successful movies 'Plucking the Daisy' (1956) and 'Naughty Girl' (1956). He then directed Bardot in the top grossing film 'And God Created Woman' (1956).
Roger Vadim’s later movies saw several new leading ladies with whom he had affairs. These films include 'Les liaisons dangereuses' (1959), 'Vice and Virtue' (1963), 'The Game Is Over' (1966). His acting filmography contains 'School for Love', 'Sweet and Sour', 'Ciao! Manhattan', 'The Assassinated Young Girl', 'Rich and Famous', and 'Into the Night'.
