American actor, comedian, director, producer, and writer, Keenen Ivory Wayans commenced his showbiz journey with comedic performances at ‘The Improv’ in New York. He then forayed into acting in the early 1980s. He hails from the ‘Wayans family of entertainers.’ He earned fame with the American sketch comedy television series ‘In Living Color’ (1990-1994) that he created, wrote and starred-in, along with his brother, Damon Wayans. Keenen has over the years contributed as writer and/or director and/or producer to various films among which the 2000 American horror comedy ‘Scary Movie’ emerged as the top-grossing directed by an African-American until such time.
He dropped out of school to pursue comedy and eventually made a mark in showbiz as an actor, director, producer, and writer with different television and film productions. Some of his notable films are ‘I'm Gonna Git You Sucka’ (actor-writer-directorial debut; 1988), ‘Little Man’ (producer-writer-director, 2006), and ‘Scary Movie’ (actor-director). Many such films also included one or more of his siblings in the cast.
