American actress Diane Lane is best known for her role as Connie Summer in the movie ‘Unfaithful’ (2002), for which she was awarded Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) at the National Society of Film Critics and New York Film Critics Circle awards.
Her other award winning performances in her early career include ‘A Little Romance’ (1979) and ‘Touched by Love’ (1980). Of late she has appeared in the films ‘Paris Can Wait’ (2016) and ‘Justice League’ (2017). Her recent theatre credits include ‘The Mystery of Love and Sex’ (2015) and ‘The Cherry Orchard’ (2016).
Her career took a beating in 1984 due to the failures of her movies ‘Streets of Fire’ and ‘The Cotton Club’ that were termed as commercial disasters. Her career languished till she made a comeback with the popular television miniseries ‘Lonesome Dove’ in 1989. She went on to appear in a number of popular serials and telefilms like ‘Fallen Angels’ (1993), ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ (1995) and ‘Cinema Verite’ (2011).
