Between a religious war between Catholics and Protestants, Young Queen Margot finds herself trapped in an arranged marriage. She hopes to escape with a new lover. However, due to her powerful and ruthless family, she finds herself trapped.  

Sarah is the young mother of a seven year old boy named Jeremiah. She is unable to be a good mother to him, as she not only provides him with drugs, but she also uses her lovers as an excuse to eventually abandon him and disappear to Atlantic City. Upon learning about this, Jeremiah’s grandmother takes him to a West Virginian radical Christian cult which is led by his grandfather.
