Tom Hardy is an English actor and producer who began his career in HBO's award-winning miniseries ‘Band of Brothers’ (2001). Following a short role in Ridley Scott's action film ‘Black Hawk Down’ in 2001, he earned recognition for appearing as the main villain Shinzon in ‘Star Trek: Nemesis’ (2002).
He next appeared in films such as ‘The Reckoning’, ‘Dot the i’, ‘Marie Antoinette’, ‘Scenes of a Sexual Nature’, and ‘Flood’, most of which received mixed to negative reviews and were failures at the box office. In 2008, he bounced back with the successful films ‘RocknRolla’ and ‘Bronson’.
In 2010, he worked with Christopher Nolan in his sci-fi thriller ‘Inception’ and was cast as the antagonist in his 2012 superhero film, ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ – both of which became top grossing films. In 2015, he earned an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in ‘The Revenant’ and bagged one of his best roles as ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky in the post-apocalyptic film ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. Other notable movies in his diverse filmography include ‘Warrior’, ‘Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy’, ‘Lawless’, ‘Locke’, ‘The Drop’ and ‘Legend’. On television, he is the main cast on ‘Peaky Blinders’ (2013-17) and ‘Taboo’ (2017).
