Tom Berenger is best known for his roles as 'Staff Sergeant Bob Barnes' in ‘Platoon’ (1986) and as 'Thomas Beckett' in the ‘Sniper’ series of films. His high rated performance came in the role of 'Jonathan Knox' in the movie ‘Shoot to Kill’ (1988).
He was nominated for a 'Golden Raspberry Award' for 'Worst Supporting Actor' for his role as 'Jack Landsford' in the thriller ‘Silver’ (1993). His films ‘A Murder of Crows’ (1999), ‘Breaking Point’ (2009), and ‘American Dresser’ (2018) did not do well at the box office.
Berenger is the recipient of a 'Primetime Emmy Award' for 'Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries' for his role as 'Jim Vance' in the miniseries ‘Hatfields & McCoys’ (2012).
He also appeared in the popular serial ‘Ally McBeal’ (2001) as 'Harrison Wyatt.' His other television appearances include ‘Cheers’ (1993), ‘Law & Order’ (2000), ‘Major Crimes’ (2012 – 2018), and ‘Training Day’ (2017).
