Katharine McPhee is an American actress, singer and songwriter who rose to fame after finishing as runner-up on the fifth season of ‘American Idol’ in 2006. Following the success of her self-titled debut album (2007), she branched into acting on television and in films. She did a cameo as Paramount Girl in the 2007 musical film ‘Crazy’ and played Harmony in the 2008 romantic comedy ‘The House Bunny’. Her early television appearances include shows like ‘lonelygirl15’ (2007), ‘Ugly Betty’ (2007), ‘CSI: NY’ (2009) and ‘Community’ (2010).
She was part of the ensemble cast on the musical drama series ‘Smash’ (2012-13) as Karen Cartwright, a role that earned her many accolades. In 2014, she got one of her best roles as the female lead Paige Dineen on the action drama series ‘Scorpion’, which, despite mixed reviews, has been running successfully for four seasons. She voice acted on one episode of ‘Family Guy’ (2012); was a guest star on the web series ‘It Could Be Worse’ (2014); and competed on an episode of ‘Lip Sync Battle’ (2016). Her recent filmography includes ‘You May Not Kiss the Bride’, ‘Shark Night 3D’, ‘In My Dreams’ and ‘The Lost Wife of Robert Durst’.
