Sylvia Kristel made her screen debut in the 1973 Dutch film ‘Frank en Eva’ directed by Pim de la Parra. In 1974, she portrayed ‘Emmanuelle’ in the French drama film ‘Emmanuelle’ directed by Just Jaeckin. While the film was marred by negative reviews on its initial release, it received a more mixed response from critics in later years. She was next seen in films like ‘Playing with Fire’ (1975), ‘Emmanuelle II’ (1975), ‘Game of Seduction’ (1976), ‘La Marge’ (1976), ‘Alice or the Last Escapade’ (1977), ‘Emmanuelle 3’ (1977), ‘Pastorale 1943’ (1978), ‘Tigers in Lipstick’ (1979), and ‘The Fifth Musketeer’ (1979). In 1980, she starred as ‘Agent 34’ in the American spy comedy film ‘The Nude Bomb’ directed by Clive Donner. The film received mostly negative reviews from critics and was a commercial failure. Kristel continued to star in films like ‘Private Lessons’ (1981), ‘Lady Chatterley's Lover’ (1981), ‘Private School’ (1983), ‘Emmanuelle 4’ (1984), ‘Mata Hari’ (1985), ‘The Arrogant’ (1988), ‘Hot Blood’ (1989), ‘Silence of the Body’ (1992), ‘Emmanuelle 7’ (1993), ‘In the Shadow of the Sandcastle’ (1996), ‘Gaston's War’ (1997), ‘Film 1’ (1999), ‘Lijmen/Het Been’ (2000), ‘Vergeef me’ (2001), and ‘Sexy Boys’ (2001). She was last seen in the 2010 Ognjen Svilicic-directed drama film ‘Two Sunny Days,’ where she played the role of ‘Angela.’
