Ray Romano made his debut in the American adult animated sitcom ‘Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist’ in 1995. He voiced ‘Ray’ and remained a part of the show until 1997. The same year, he also became a part of the American late-night talk show, ‘Late Show with David Letterman.’ He starred in 31 episodes and remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2015. In 1996, Romano joined the lead cast of the American sitcom television series ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ where he grabbed the role of ‘Raymond Barone.’ The series aired 210 episodes in a span of 9 seasons before going off-air in 2005. Romano also won several awards including 4 ‘People's Choice Awards’ for his performance in the show. He reprised his role as ‘Raymond Barone’ in television series like ‘Cosby’ (1997), ‘The King of Queens’ (1998-2005), ‘The Nanny’ (1998), and ‘Becker’ (1999). He made his silver-screen debut in the 2002 Chris Wedge-directed American computer-animated adventure comedy film ‘Ice Age’ where he voiced Manfred "Manny." The film opened to a positive reception and was a major box office success, grossing over $383.2 million on a budget of $59 million. In 2004, he played the role of ‘Handy Harrison’ in the political satire comedy film ‘Welcome to Mooseport’ directed by Donald Petrie. The film was largely panned by critics and earned a 13% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The same year, he also appeared in the comedy-drama film ‘Eulogy’ which also received negative reviews from critics.
He next starred in films like ‘Ice Age: The Meltdown’ (2006), ‘Grilled’ (2006), ‘The Last Word’ (2008), ‘The Grand’ (2008), ‘Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs’ (2009), ‘Ice Age: Continental Drift’ (2012), ‘Rob the Mob’ (2014), ‘Ice Age: Collision Course’ (2016), ‘The Big Sick’ (2017), ‘Paddleton’ (2019), and ‘The Irishman’ (2019). In 2021, he joined the main cast of the American dark comedy television series ‘Made for Love.’ The second season of the series saw its premiere in April 2022. Romano will be next seen in the upcoming American comedy film ‘Somewhere in Queens.’
