Park Min-young first appeared in an uncredited role in the movie ‘Fighter in the Wind’ (2004), followed by a recurring role in the popular sitcom ‘High Kick’ (2006) for which she received ‘Best New Actress in Comedy/Sitcom’ award.
Next, Park played ‘a criminal’s daughter’ in the drama-series ‘I Am Sam’ (2007), earning ‘Best New Actress Award.’ She appeared in a minor role as ‘Hooker’ in the Korean-Western ‘The Good the Bad the Weird’ (2008). In series ‘Korean Ghost Stories’ (2008), she was a mythological creature. In period-drama series ‘Ja Myung Go’ (2009), Park played ‘Princess Ra Hee’ a negative character, and was part of the romantic-triangle in ‘Running, Gu’ (2010).
Park got her breakthrough as ‘a young girl disguised as male’ in the hit historical-drama ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’ (2010) bringing in ‘Best Actress’ nominations and ‘Excellence’ awards. Her next series ‘City Hunter’ (2011), inspired from a Japanese manga, was also successful.
Park made her film debut as ‘Claustrophobic So-yeon’ in the horror-film ‘The Cat’ (2011), and followed it with the drama-series ‘Glory Jane’ (2011) as an ‘aspiring nurse’ which earned her nominations and awards. She played dual roles in the historical-drama series ‘Dr. Jin’ (2012).
In the legal-drama series ‘A New Leaf’ (2014), Park played a ‘committed law-intern,’ while in the popular series ‘Healer’ (2014-2015), she played ‘a journalist,’ earning accolades. The thriller-drama series ‘Remember’ (2015-2016) saw her as a ‘lawyer.’ She essayed the lead as ‘Queen Dangyeong’ in the historical-series ‘Queen for Seven days’ (2017), earning awards.
Park was part of the Netflix variety program ‘Busted’ (2018-2021). Successful romantic-comedy series ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim’ (2018), wherein she played ‘Kim,’ brought popularity and honors. This was followed by the romantic series ‘Her Private Life’ (2019), and ‘When the Weather is Fine’ (2020).
