Malcolm McDowell worked on stage before appearing on various TV-series in 1967. He played the lead in his debut movie ‘If…’ (1968).
After earning nomination in ‘The Raging Moon’ (1971), he won accolades for ‘A Clockwork Orange’ (1971). McDowell starred in ‘O Lucky Man’ (1973), ‘Aces High’ (1976), ‘Voyage of the Damned’ (1976), ‘Caligula’ (1979), ‘Britannia Hospital’ (1982).
McDowell’s first Hollywood movie, ‘Time After Time,’ (1979) fetched him nominations. Thereafter, he starred in ‘Cat People’ (1982), ‘Get Crazy’ (19893), and ‘The Caller’ (1987).
On TV, McDowell featured in ‘The Collection’ (1976), ‘Faerie Tale Theater’ (1983), ‘Pearl’ (1996-1997), ‘Fantasy Island’ (1998-1999), ‘Entourage’ (2005-2011), ‘Franklin & Bash’ (2011).
McDowell portrayed negative roles in ‘Blue Thunder’ (1983), ‘Star Trek Generations’ (1994), ‘Tank Girl’ (1995), ‘Gangster NO.1’ (2000), ‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead’ (2003), ‘Halloween’ (2007), ‘Halloween II’ (2009), and the TV-series ‘Heroes’ (2007).
McDowell featured in ‘The List’ (2007), ‘Suing the Devil’ (2010), ‘Richard the Lionheart’ (2013), ‘The Employer’ (2013) which won him awards. He was also seen in ‘The Artist’ (2011), ‘Vamps’ (2012), ‘Bombshell’ (2019) and earned nominations for ‘31’ (2013).
McDowell lent his voice in ‘The Compleat Beatles,’ ‘Happily Ever After,’ ‘Teen Titans,’ ‘Metalocalypse,’ ‘Bolt,’ Animated-series ‘Superman,’ ‘Batman’ and many more.
