Erik Estrada is an American actor and police officer, best known for his role as patrol officer ‘Francis (Frank) Llewelyn "Ponch" Poncherello’ in the show ‘CHiPs’ (1977-1983). He made his film debut in ‘The Cross and the Switchblade’ (1970). Some of his popular roles came in films such as ‘Airport 1975’ (1974), ‘Hour of the Assassin’ (1987), ‘A Show of Force’ (1990), ‘The Naked Truth’ (1992), ‘National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1’ (1999), ‘Spring Break '83’ (2012), ‘ Virtuous’ (2015), and ‘Uncommon’ (2015). He made his TV debut in the police drama ‘Hawaii Five-O‘ (1973). His other TV show appearances came in shows such as ‘The Six Million Dollar Man’ (1975), ‘The Dirty Dozen: The Fatal Mission’ (1988),’Baywatch’ (1997), ‘Drake & Josh’ (2004), and ‘Still the King’ (2017). In 2016, he became a reserve police officer in St. Anthony, Idaho.
