Austin Butler made his screen debut in the American live-action sitcom ‘Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide’ in 2005. He played the role of ‘Lionel Scranton’ and remained a part of the show until it went off-air in 2007. He next appeared in television series and shows such as ‘Drake & Josh’ (2006), ‘Hannah Montana’ (2006), ‘Zoey 101’ (2007), ‘iCarly’ (2007), ‘Out of Jimmy's Head’ (2008), ‘Ruby & the Rockits’ (2009), and ‘Zeke and Luther’ (2009). He went on to make his film debut in the 2009 American comic science fiction ‘Aliens in the Attic’ directed by John Schultz. The film received mixed reviews from critics and failed to perform at the box office. In 2010, he became a part of the American teen drama television series ‘Life Unexpected’ where he starred as ‘Jones Mager.’ The show was canceled after two seasons in 2011 due to low ratings. He next appeared in television series and shows like ‘CSI: NY’ (2011), ‘Switched at Birth’ (2011-2012), ‘Are You There, Chelsea?’ (2012), ‘The Carrie Diaries’ (2013-2014), ‘Arrow’ (2014-2015), and ‘The Shannara Chronicles’ (2016-2017). In 2019, he starred as ‘Jack’ in the Jim Jarmusch-directed American comedy horror film ‘The Dead Don't Die.’ The film received a mixed response from critics. That same year, he also portrayed ‘Tex Watson’ in the comedy-drama film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ directed by Quentin Tarantino. The film garnered praise from critics and was a major box office success, grossing over $374.6 million on a budget of $96 million. He was last seen in the 2022 Baz Luhrmann-directed biographical musical drama film ‘Elvis’ where he portrayed ‘Elvis Presley.’ The film received mostly positive reviews from critics.
