Alan Autry is an American actor and politician. He is also a former ‘National Football League’ player (known as ‘Carlos Brown’ during his football career). He is best known for playing ‘Bubba Skinner’ in the drama TV series ‘In the Heat of the Night,’ from 1988 to 1985. He made his screen/film debut in the 1978 thriller film ‘Remember My Name’ as ‘Rusty.’ He had starring roles in TV shows, such as ‘Grace Under Fire’ (1995-96), ‘Style & Substance’ (1998), and ‘Sons of Thunder’ (1999). He appeared as a guest-star in shows such as ‘Hello, Larry’ (1979), ‘The A-Team’ (1983, 1986), ‘Hunter’ (1984), and ‘Hart of Dixie’ (2005). His popular films include ‘North Dallas Forty’ (1979) and ‘Southern Comfort’ (1981). Some of his unsuccessful films are ‘Rage!’ (1980) and ‘Dangerous Company’ (1982). He also made appearances on talk shows, such as ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ (2005) and ‘The 700 Club’ (2006).
