In this short cartoon, Mickey is seen reading Gulliver’s Travels while his charges are playing with a drum, pretending it was a boat. To calm them down, he tells them Gulliver’s story, putting himself in the place of the shipwrecked sailor, pretending that it all happened to him, ending it with how he killed a giant spider. But just then, somebody dangles a fake spider in front of him.

Pluto first chases a crab, then accidently drags a displeased octopus ashore while retrieving string of sausages tossed by Mickey. The menacing octopus disrupts the party, but Mickey gets rid of it by lassoing it with rope and anchor.
