Victor Fleming was a celebrated American producer, film director, and cinematographer. He started his career as a camera assistant and rose up to the ranks to become a cinematographer. He directed his first film in 1919. Most of his silent movies were action films or Westerns, starring Douglas Fairbanks. He joined Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio in 1932, and directed some of the most illustrious films like ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ‘Red Dust,’ ‘Captains Courageous,’ ‘Reckless,’ ‘Treasure Island,’ and ‘Gone with The Wind,’ for which he also bagged in an ‘Academy Award.’ Some of his other noteworthy films include ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,’ ‘Test Pilot,’ ‘The Virginian,’ ‘Joan of Arc,’ ‘A Guy Named Joe,’ ‘When The Clouds Roll By,’ ‘Bombshell,’ ‘Mantrap,’ ‘The Farmer Takes a Wife,’ ‘Mantrap,’ and more.
