Rusev made his acting debut in the 2016 American action film ‘Countdown’ directed by John Stockwell. The film was produced by Michael J. Luisi and was released direct-to-video. That same year, he also appeared in the direct-to-DVD animated comedy mystery racing film ‘Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon’ directed by Tim Divar. The film saw its premiere at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con. In 2016, Rusev also made his television debut in the American reality television series, ‘Total Divas.’ The series aired 120 episodes in a span of 9 seasons before going off-air in 2019.
