Robert Englund is best known for his role of 'Freddy Krueger,' the serial killer in the film series ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ for which he was nominated twice for a 'Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor.' His high rated performances are in the musical documentary film ‘Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy’ (2010) and documentary film ‘To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story’ (2018). His roles as Nemo in ‘Meet the Deedles’ and Jackson Roth in ‘Strangeland’ failed to have an impact on the audience. His ‘976-EVIL’, however, failed at the box office.
Englund has lent his voice in the television series ‘The Batman’ (2004 – 2008) and ‘The Simpsons’ (1998). He received positive reviews for his appearances on the series ‘Justice League’ (2004), ‘Bones’ (2010), and ‘Town of the Living Dead’ (2014). He featured as himself in the video game ‘Call of the Dead’ and Freddy Krueger in the game ‘Mortal Kombat,’ in 2011.
