Matthew Mercer made his voice role debut in the 2004 video game ‘Scaler.’ He continued to give his voice in video games, such as ‘World of Warcraft’ (2004), ‘Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon’ (2008), ‘Street Fighter IV’ (2009), ‘Star Ocean: The Last Hope’ (2009), ‘Wolfenstein’ (2009), ‘No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle’ (2010), ‘Super Street Fighter IV’ (2010), and ‘Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage’ (2010). In 2010, he joined the voice cast of the Japanese anime series ‘Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn.’ The following year, he voiced ‘Rihan Nura’ in the anime television series ‘Persona 4: The Animation.’ In 2013, he became a part of the voice cast of ‘Naruto: Shippuden,’ the sequel to the original ‘Naruto anime series.’ The series ran for 500 episodes and went off-air in 2017. In 2014, he joined the Japanese adventure-science-fiction television anime series ‘Sword Art Online.’ Mercer voices ‘Kikuoka Seijirou’ and is still a part of the series. That same year, he also became a part of the voice cast of the Japanese dark fantasy anime television series ‘Attack on Titan.’ The fourth and the final season of the series premiered in 2021.
He also appeared in several other anime series and shows, such as ‘Kill la Kill’ (2014-2015), ‘Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals’ (2014), ‘One Piece’ (2015), ‘Aldnoah.Zero’ (2015-2016), ‘Hunter × Hunter’ (2016-2019), ‘Black Butler: Book of Circus’ (2016), ‘JoJo's Bizarre Adventure’ (2017-present), ‘Dragon Ball Super’ (2017-2019), ‘Boruto: Naruto Next Generations’ (2019), ‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ (2019), and ‘Persona 5: The Animation’ (2020). In 2021, he voiced ‘God’ in Season 3 of the Japanese supernatural romantic comedy anime series ‘Fruit Basket.’
