As a disco hostess is stalked by a sexual predator, she decides to ask help from a detective, who shows a personal interest in the case. 

Pauline ‘Paulie,’ the wife of wealthy real-estate developer Ralph Nevins, is having a secret affair with Ralph’s assistant Marshall ‘Marsh,’ but is unwilling to leave Ralph because of his money. After overhearing a jewel robbery plan, Paulie persuades a reluctant Marsh to rob the thieves after their robbery. Suspicious of Paulie’s behavior, Ralph follows her with his gun on the same fateful night.

Despite his failure to find the tribe, he refuses to admit it, and gives a lecture about the Shelmikedmu tribe, which is named after his children Shelly, Mike and Edmund. He also decides to dress up his family like the fictitious tribe to videotape them as ‘proof’ of his discovery.
