Diana Ross is an American actor, singer, musician, songwriter and producer. She is best known for her projects that she did in the 60s with her musical group ‘The Supremes’. After a highly successful musical career, she forayed into acting with the 1972 film ‘Lady Sings the Blues’, and it proved to be her big career breakthrough. For her portrayal, she won nominations for Academy Award and Golden Globe.
She later went on to star in some notable films which are largely considered to be the best roles of her career. These include ‘Mahogany’, ‘The Wiz’, ‘Out of Darkness’ and ‘Double Platinum’. Though she was a fairly successful actress, yet her career did not extend much further.
Some of singles for which she won many honors and top spots at music charts in US and Europe are ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’, ‘Remember Me’, ‘Surrender’, ‘I’m Waiting’, ‘Muscles’ and ‘Chain Reaction’. During the peak of her fame, she was a major television celebrity and made appearances with ‘The Muppet Show’, ‘Diana’, ‘Standing Room Only’, ‘Christmas in Vienna’ and ‘Super Concert of the Century’.
Wiz on Down the Road is a short film which was made as a promotional on the making of the 1978 fantasy adventure film ‘The Wiz’.
The Wiz is a fantasy adventure film which revolves around a shy 24 year old schoolteacher named Dorothy, who is magically transported to the urban fantasy Land of Oz. She soon befriends a Scarecrow, a Tin Man and a Cowardly Lion, and they embark on a quest together to look for a way to send her back home.
When young orphaned Brontosaurus Littlefoot is left to fend for himself, he sets out of find the fabled Great Valley, where, according to his mother’s last words, he’ll find friendly dinosaurs. As he meets young Cera, Spike, Ducky and Petrie, they continue their quest together. When they face petrifying challenges and ferocious predators, the friends learn to survive by helping each other.
