Daniel Aaron Lissing made his first screen appearance on the Australian comedy series ‘Pizza’ (2001). He later guest appeared as a ‘fire fighter’ in the popular Australian series ‘Home & Away’ (2006), followed by a 6-episode appearance on the drama series ‘Out of the Blue’ (2008) and the drama comedy series ‘Packed to the Rafters’ (2008-2009).
Lissing made his film debut in the 2009 short film ‘White Line,’ followed by ‘Multiple Choice.’ That same year, he also appeared in the crime drama series ‘Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities.’ He next appeared in short films ‘The Game’ (2010), ‘Fidelity’ (2011) and ‘Entwined’ (2011).
In 2011, Lissing appeared in a recurring role as ‘Conrad De Groot’ in the drama series ‘Crownies.’ Next, he played ‘US Navy Officer James King’ in the military drama series ‘Last Resort’ (2012-2013). In 2014, he starred as ‘Ryan Earl’ in the thriller film ‘The Cure’ and also in appeared in the crime thriller film ‘John Doe: Vigilante.’
Lissing played the lead as ‘Jack Thornton’ in the drama series ‘When Calls the Heart’ (2014-2018), which he left after 5 seasons. He played ‘Detective Ben Miller’ in the MTV thriller series ‘Eye Candy’ (2015). After featuring in the short film ‘The Answers’ (2015), he appeared in the American comedy drama series ‘Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce’ (2015-2016), and played ‘Jesse James’ in episode ‘The Murder of Jesse James’ of sci-fi series ‘Timeless’ (2017).
Lissing had a recurring role in the action-drama series ‘S.W.A.T.’ (2018-2019). He starred in Hallmark Channel’s TV films ‘A December Bride’ (2016), ‘Christmas in Love’ (2018) and ‘A Christmas Star’ (2021). He also featured in the police-procedural series ‘The Rookie’ (2019-2021) and the crime-thriller series ‘The Cleaning Lady’ (2022).
