Michael Landon initially did various manual labor jobs before making his first appearance on-screen with ‘I Was a Teenage Wolf,’ that was widely disdained at that time but became one of the legendary films in the drive-in horror genre later. He received positive reviews for his performance in ‘God’s Little Acre,’ where he played Dave Dawson. This recognition landed him with the role in ‘The Legend of Tom Dooley.’ He also starred in various television shows, including ‘The Restless Gun,’ ‘Wanted: Dead or Alive,’ ‘Johnny Staccato,’ ‘The Court of Last Resort,’ ‘Crossroads,’ ‘State Trooper,’ ‘The Adventures of Jim Bowie,’ ‘U.S Marshal,’ ‘The Tall Man,’ ‘Wire Service,’ ‘Tales of Wells Fargo,’ ‘The Court of Last Resort,’ etc. He followed his success with ‘Highway to Heaven,’ a television series where he starred as Jonathan Smith.
